During my 16-year corporate career, I often felt overloaded and
overstressed. However, finding a solution was not quite as simple
as hiring some extra help. Why? There wasn't enough work
for a full-time person and temps didn't have the experience.
What I needed was a clone of myself...hmm.
That's when the idea for
umbrella marketing was sprung. I decided I would create a small
company that would be the right arm to a marketing professional a
few hours a week to lighten the load so they could push the company
forward.
I began to do some research and my findings were
very exciting. I had stumbled onto a national trend of outsourcing...marketing
in particular!
I wanted to approach my husband, but before I
could I needed to have a sound and logical stratagem complete with
marketing plan, budget and Matrix chart of my finding of why companies
should outsource. When I did, he thought I'd lost my mind until
he came home with a business publication that had also identified 6
of my 8 reasons companies should outsource!
Now in my 6th year,
we are still very happy with the decision to create Umbrella Marketing!
